News Release

Highlands Ranch, Colorado April 16th, 2008 – ARCADIS’ CEO Wellness Challenge is a hit with the Employees

With a global network of business professional in offices around the world, the HR Administrator was asked to implement a North American wellness program from the head office in Highlands Ranch. That was a tall order, with an office in almost every state.

The solution was a team based activity challenge utilizing the internet to offer a fun virtual race in which all the offices could join. The wellness team designed a custom 14,554 mile race staring in Colorado heading west to Seattle, then south to Texas over to Boston and then across the Atlantic to London and eventually crossing the finish line in Arnhem, Netherlands where the parent Corporate office is located. The race kicked off in April and is expected to wrap up at the end of the year.

All the virtual steps are based on real physical activity tracked and logged by the employees through their teams. As teams approached milestone locations represented by the regional offices, prizes were donated by that office to the teams reaching their location. The new technology lets each member and team see the race unfold, showing how their personal progress is helping as they get fit at home at their own pace. It’s a real team builder.

“We love the new technology. We had decided we were going to have a CEO activity challenge for our wellness program and wanted the IT department to create it. We talked to our IT department who suggested we check to see if there was a system available to purchase. When we checked out CoreXL and the Team Activity Challenge module, there was everything we wanted and more! In addition, the program would be ready in only four weeks, just in time for our spring wellness challenge event" states Sheri Walker- HR Administrator. “The activity challenge was a hit with the employees. We had to order 50% more access passes in the first week to meet the response.”
